So I just realized that one of my Bumble Bee shrimp was berried! and then next thing I know as I'm taking pix of her to make sure I was right, she started dropping what looks like eggs... its been a good 30 minutes and shes still dropping them onto the mesh that is over my filter intake!! I'm very excited, considering I just discovered that she was prego!

So I decided to take a video of her dropping her young!

I sound like a retard in videos! oh well I'm Pumped! just hope they can grow up, hopefully the danios and rainbow shark wont make them their lunch!

whens the baby shower??

The video won't work for me. :(

Are they eggs or baby shrimp? If they are eggs then the will not hatch. The female will be berried for about 30 days before the babies hatch and swim away on their own. Either they were not fertilized or this is her first batch and she doesn't know what she is doing. Sorry for the bad news but as long as you have a male with her, you will soon enough have shrimplets.

I'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade... but were any of the eggs she dropped moving?? I couldn't tell for sure from the video.

My understanding is that the young drop off after they hatch and not before.

Doh; RazzleFish beat me to it.

Be sure to let us see pictures of the blue tigers!

yea it is the first time i am ever seeing my shrimp berried or having eggs at all, they were not moving after they were released so they were either infertile or my shrimp are just retarded... think the latter is correct! haha thanks for the feedback! and i will post pix of the blue tigers tomorrow after they arrive! hopefully they will last through this blizzard that we got! 14-16 inches of snow! fun stuff!

There are two shrimp hangin on the mesh covering where the eggs were laid not sure what that means but there sitting there not moving at all so we'll see what happens in the next couple days also looks like the mother still has some eggs in her so I'll be keeping a close eye on her!

Gotta love my rainbow shark sniffing around in the area where the eggs were laid!!
