Hi everyone, I am sure that my tank holds a Burmuda Triangle of its own!!. At the weekend I took my young Platinum Sailfin Mollies to my lfs. Sad to see them go but has to be done:o. Also taking advice about getting fish that would help thin down the fry population of further births I asked if they had some Neon Tetras. Yes, she only had two left and a Glowlight with them and she said I could have them in exchange. Great I thought, good trade. So took them home, acclimatised them and let them go in the tank with the 2 adult Mollies, and 2 adult Red Platys plus 20 or so 10 day old Platys. All seemed to be fine for a couple of hours then I had my dinner. After that I checked them again and could only see one Neon Tetra and the Glowlight. Searched everywhere for the other Neon, in the filter, had all the plants and ornaments out, absolutely no sign of it. Only thought is that the Mollies ate it! Or Yes I do have a Bermuda Triangle. This happened with a Platy when I first set up the tank 4 months ago. Not able to jump out as tank is a secure Biotube. Is it feasible that the Mollies ate it? If so they did a pretty good job at it as there was no debris. Apart from that I seem to be trouble free at the moment. The 35lt Biotube is home to the adults and fry for about two weeks them I try to catch the fry and put them in another 30lt square tank to bring them on. Next is to catch the young Platys which is not easy yet, any advice on how to catch the little dears as I took ages trying to catch the Mollies when they were about two weeks. Love reading the threads and getting loads of advice from you all. Thanks. ps Is anyone else out there from the UK.

Very unlikely that they were killed from being eaten.

Could have been bullied to death as the tank seems overcrowded.
Possibly water parameter related (what are ammo, 'trite and 'trate readings?)
Tetras arent the hardiest...may not have been acclimated well enough/could have just been poor stock

My guess is a combonation of things. But they were not eaten until after they were already dead. Fish do eat dead fish...

Fish just disappear no reason, especially neons ...

I am near the uk, i live in Dublin Ireland. Yes the site is great for advice and meeting folk. They are so very willig to help out.
A great community to be involved in..

Denis
