i just got rid of my 35 gallon hex. tank, the fish i had in it was an oscar that was about 6 inches , a lemon yellow cichlid, a pleco, and a 6 1/2 inch freshwater cat fish . i let the guy who bought the tank keep the oscar cichlid, and pleco. well to make a long story short, when i was trying to transfer the catfish to another tank i think that he busted his top lip. its kinda curled up in the front and looks kinda redish. will this go away on its own or is there somehting that i have to dol. hes in a 10 gallon long tank. hes about 6 1/2 inches long and hes about 2 inches fat. is this new tank to small :help:

Okay...I'll be the one to say it. NO the 10 gallon is no where near big enough to hold your catfish!!!! at 6 1/2 inches long can he even turn around in that without folding himself in half?

As for it's lip- extremely clean water and frequent water changes will help it heal more than anything. It will not live long at all in the 10 gallon...busted lip or not.

You really need to move to a much bigger tank- 55 gallon or more or donate it to your LFS. It's cruel to try to house it in the 10 gallon.

i have a 55 gallon but it houses a 10 1/2 inch albino oscar can i put him in there with the oscar

Ummmm No. I think the 55 is probably not even big enough for your one oscar. I know a 55 seems big, but it isn't really when you have a 10 1/2 inch fish in it. Your catfish should not go in there. Do you know what kind of catfish it is? Most of them grow HUGE...as in 18+ inches.

He needs a bigger tank without such a big tankmate, a tank of his own, or donated to your LFS.
