I was just wondering if anyone had ever purchased fish online. If so, what were your results? I am particularly interested in Angelfish. Can anyone recommend a good site to buy from? Or, do you not recommend purchasing fish from an online distributor?

I have long drooled over angelsplus.com's angels. They have the quality and breeding program that is so good that alot of breeders get their breeding stock from them. their wild crosses are particularly spectacular... can get a foot tall with good care and room enough for them

I have purchased fish online via Aquabid and Goldfish Connection with excellent results.

I think buying directly from a breeder (or importer) gets you much better quality fish than purchasing from a generic "all species" retailer. I've seen really outrageous prices for run of the mill pet shop platies and mollies online- add shipping to that (generally in the $50-60 range IME) and you got some expensive mediocre fish.
But if you can take your time to see what is available from the breeders you can get much nicer specimens- clearer colors, more thrifty, better cared for, etc.

Knock on wood I've never lost so much as one ghost shrimp through shipping. I remain amazed that someone can put a fish in a box in California and the next morning someone else will knock on my door with it. We live in amazing times.

Go look at the
Angelfish on Aquabid and see what strikes your fancy. Check out the feedback on the person selling and ask as many questions as you need to before you bid- ask for customer referrals if you want to.
Then get a tank ready because Airborne Express comes early!!
Good luck!
