Hi, I am new to this forum and here to get some help. We are moving our aquarium and are tying to remove the calcium deposits from the tank and equipment. Is there any cleaner that we can use on it to remove the calcium?

Carefully razor blade the heavy stuff off first then use the above suggested method. The concern with razor baldes (assuming glass tank) is to make sure your do not cut the silicone in the corners. If you don't use the blade first, the vinegar will still get it done, but it becomes pretty tedious with heavy deposits.

Instead of a bare razor blade, you can use one either a wallpaper or window scraper (they look sorta like this one: http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=productDetail&productId=43542-000000570-02986). They're also used for cleaning tape off of windows and stuff. You can find them in hardware or paint stores. They have razor blades in them, but also have a handle and a guide to help prevent you from scratching the glass.

I use one (carefully!) on my glass top stove and it works great.

(Assuming the obvious joke), I'd go with a 12 pound B&O spike driver. the punch type ends tend to allow you to pinpoint your blows to the heaviest areas of calcium, and pinpoint blows will work better. Especially if you happen to have a tempered glass tank.

If its really REALLY heavy calcium you could rent a jack-hammer.

Or find a big guy named Jack and give him a 12 pound B&O spike driver.

Or you could find a guy named Jack who has BO and get him hammered and....

......

what were we talking about?
