Old post, but I wanted to add my .02. I live in Allentown, and once or twice a year I'll make the trek down to lancaster with my fiance...try to make a day of it. The trip usually revolves around going to That Pet Place. I buy a lot of my supplies from them online, but I always compare to Big Al's & Drs. & Fosters. Most of my biz goes to That Pet Place though. I have bought fish from them and they were also great. When I had Africans, half came from there, and the other half came from World Wide Aquarium in Upper Darby. Both have quality fish IMO.
When I bought my Oceanic 55 tank & stand, I drove down to buy from them. They have way better prices than any LFS or chain on premium tanks-well worth the gas and time to save a ton of money.
I also bought this guy from That Pet Place through their mail order fish department:
He did great for about a year, but unfortunately met an untimely death as these Electric Blue JD's are pretty sensitive. Oh, they also have this really nice old man at the entrance that acts as a greeter and he's just the nicest fellow. Overall, I find they have the best service and I will pay a little more (not a lot) if I have to. Now, my Eheim 2026 I had to buy from Big Al's...it was just too good a deal from them, but it took them forever to ship from NY to PA.
