Ok, so I have to get a new camera. My girls decided to make a "wrestling" video and well the camera was a little to close, needless to say they broke the lens off the camera. So I need a new one, I can't spend much at all really and am wondering if anyone can tell me a good quality "cheap" camera.

I'm looking to spend no more then around 200.00. I could go MAYBE a touch over but really would like to keep it at 200 or less. Does anyone know if I could get a camera that takes good pic's that doesn't cost alot of money?

Thanks so much in advance....

G :)

I'm guessing you want a digital camera? If so just pick up something with at least 5.0 mega pixels. 5mp is equivalent to a standard 35mm cameras resolution. Cameras with that many mega pixels have come down a bunch over the years so it shouldn't be hard to find a cheap one.

Kodak tends to have some low price and decent quality cameras... try those.

Sony & Canon - good bang for the buck though Sony's memor sticks are somewhat annoying in terms of what they'll fit into/won't fit into, and they're a little more expensive than other memory cards, all else being equal. both have decent video features and resonable response times (the time between when you push the button and when it takes a pic - this is a critical spec among cheaper cameras, especially if you take action shots).

Panasonic - you may be able to get a reasonable digital SLR at this price point (low end Lumix line), but they're larger and tend to have lower resolution video. They also have very good on board flashes, response times and much better optical zoom than the pocket camera alternatives.

A digital SLR will cost you more than $200 ...

Look at Canon or Nikon for the best image quality.

I recently purchased a Kodak Easyshare Z8612IS from Wally-world for less than $150. It does great macro and normal shots and will do short videos. It's still a point and shoot but has many DSLR features that make this decent. It has a good optical zoom that is very handy as well.

Thank you guys!

When it comes to pixels, mega pixels, micros and all that I just don't have a clue ;)

Canon SX110 IS I'm buying this one for my wife and I have used it to take a few aquarium shots.
