Can Black Bettas Breed?

I have heard several rumors that black bettas (especially females) cannot in fact reproduce.

I have been wondering if it is in fact the same for all black bettas, specifically black samurais.

I haven't bred the splendens, but I'd go to IBC to see.

I don't know any specifics.. But I would say that there is a difference between cannot and should not.

As far as I know, and I'm not necessarily a B. splendens fan, you shouldn't breed a yellow betta to a yellow better, but they will breed.

no clue about black with black, but I would expect they would breed but there may be issues with the results.

as above, IBC would be a great resource (they are better than there web page appears) or there are many facebook groups dedicated to breeding Bettas.
