I need an answer fast please because i'm getting the tank & the fish tomorrow and I need this info by 10minutes!

well, not a Midas cichlid, just a Slender Geophagus... i changed my mind

Absolutely. The agression factor for the two large cichlids is way overstated. I am certain that they will survive peacefully with the goldfish. Be sure to get small goldfish so as to not intimidate the other two inhabitants. If possible refrain from feeding the cichlids for a few days before introducing the goldfish. Their first meal with their new tank mates will make them feel happy and welcome.

Troll! Get a life.

I would object more for the health of the goldfish than any aggression issues.

Goldfish are not the easy keepers you remember from your childhood. They need more room (20/30 gal each in adulthood), more specialized feeding, and more attention to water quality than you might imagine. The parasite and bacterial problems alone are enormous- there is simply a whole 'nother world of diseases that you'll probably never encounter with tropicals.

Goldfish also produce huge quantities of waste, and you may not be quite ready for the amounts of water changes you'll be needing to do.

While things might look fine initially problems will occur- count on it.
Anyone who keeps fancy goldfish can tell you that they truly are best served in a goldfish only tank- no cories, no plecos, no nothing else.

i'm getting the 55gal. i decided i want to make it a community tank w/ some Blue Acaras, Giant Gouramis, Kissing Gouramis, Pearl Gouramis, and some Bearded Corydoras. Is that possible?
