well I have a 10gal tank currently and it has been running for 2 months with me, 6 months with previous owner. I liked the 10 gal so much I got another tank, a 55gal. I have posted other questions about it but it is not complete yet. the next logical thing for me to buy would be the hoods, (all-glass 24" x 2) I have a light, and then lots of airpumps. now here is my question...

If I buy a emperor 280 bio-wheel, will that give me enough filtration so that i can begin to cycle my tank? (I have a sponge in my 10gal whisper filter that is going to be used when I start the bio-wheel in my new 55gal)

I plan on adding just a standard power filter later on about 2 weeks to a month down the road. but I really want to begin my new tank as soon as possible, would you advise against this or would I be ok?

I wanted to start with 2 danio's also and I forgot to mention it.

Yes, the filter is fine to start your tank :) and using the filter from the 10 is an awsome idea. I can not wait to see your new tank :)

( but the ink you use to post is so hard to read and hurts my eyes :(
