Can Ich & Flukes Survive...

...Can ich and/or flukes survive in a reef tank without a fish host? How long? Approx 4 weeks ago we had a major outbreak of ich that wiped out our fish population. We introduced a mandarin goby today, and a few hours later I thought, not positive, just thought I noticed small needle point ich spots forming. It was enough to confirm my suspicion.

I thought without a fish host the ich and/or flukes would die off in a matter or 2 weeks. Anyone have information relevent to this?

Did you do anything to the tank when it was down.. I just read an article and it seems it would help them die off faster if you would drop the selinity to 1.009 and raise the temp to about 80 degrees and it should get rid of it 14 days..
