Say I have a 125 gal tank with all non aggressive fish that are mostly full grown.....say they are severens and parrots. Can a young Jack dempsey {1" - 1 1/2" } be introduced into the tank and grow to fit in eventually with the non aggressive fish community? Is it possible? Or is the little stinker bad from the start?

Its a bit hard to say as every fish's attitude varies a bit.

I've kept 6" severum with 2 juvenile buttikoferis in a 120g and they left the severum alone.
Buttikoferis are well known to be very aggressive.

I'd say give it a try and keep an eye on it and if it doesnt work you can always take the fish back or trade it in or whatever as young JDs are fairly cheap anyway ;)

Actually it was given to me......it was in my mom's tank {she bought it} with gouramis and skirts, etc. I have an established community of severens, parrots, bkg..... It's definately a young Jack Dempsey ......nice looking fish. I guess I'll just keep an eye on the lil stinker and if he's naughty I'll just drop him off at my lfs.

I was just wondering if it's possible to raise him in a non aggressive community and if anyone else has done so.
