I was tricked into buying a couple more snails today. From what I can guess they are two Ivorys and three Jades. The problem is that some have pond snail eggs on them. Whats a way that I can clean the shells without hurting them, the new snails not the eggs. Maybe a toothbrush, a soft towel, rub them on a chinchilla maybe?
I know that I will not get them all off, but I want to limit what gets into the tank.
Thanks in advance!

First I told my self that I did not need anything from the store.
Then I told my self that while I was in the store I was not going to the pet department.
Then I told my self that I could look but not buy anything.
Then I found myself on my way home with 5 more snails!
What happened?

I think if it was me, I'd try wiping them off gently with a paper towel or a clean hand towel to try to remove as much of the eggs as I could.

LOL snails are sneaky like that :) I use a handy little toothbrush to get off algae... good luck!

A Q-tip will help -- but it would be better to quarantine for a few weeks. Those eggs hide in places you can't get to!

That -- or else just learn to live with them.

Don't you hate it when they just jump in your cart?

:lol:They must have been bred with Mexican jumping beans!

Thanks everyone. I just used a soft toothbrush followed by a rub down with a paper towel(honest). Did not scrub to much as I kind of like the "mossy" look they get. One of the Jades is almost completely covered in a green shag carpet. I will post pics when they come out of their shell. So to speak.
