Hi, I have a small Pleco, I can't remember the exact type but I want to say he's a clown Pleco ... I do know he's one of the smallest types and is currently probably only two or three inches. I was wondering if he would get along with other types of bottom feeders like Corydoras or if he's better off alone down there?

Thanks in advance!

I have kept plecos with cories with no issues.

the tank size is a big part of compadibility. some plecos will get territorial in cramped conditions with other bottom dwellers.

It's a pretty small tank, just 12 gallons. If that's too cramped, are there any other fish I might get who would eat food that falls on the bottom of the tank?

Yeah thats a bit small, i wouldnt put a pleco in there as a permanant resident.

Some dwarf cories or shrimp maybe

i think a clown might be ok in a 12 as long as you over filter. shrimp might be a good idea but really you shouldnt have food at the bottom except for wha you feed the pleco.

in a tank that small i wouldn't add any other bottom dwellers. let the pleco have it all to themselves.

And you need to feed the pleco its own food. It will not survive on "leftovers". Make sure you know the plecos diet requirements, as many plecos are vegetarians and may get bloat if fed too much meat. Good luck.
