can you tell

Shekoi

Trying to start up again
if a fish is stunted???????

i had a 190gallon pond with 5 commons in, they were growing very well largest got to around 7inches. when they breed i ended up with 6 fry that survived, and grew very quickly to about 3in. i've since extended the pond to around 700ish gallons. the fish have been in it for near a year, and they don't seem to have growen at all.

did i move them to late???

my koi's have grown very well, doubled in siaze almost in 2 years!!

hmmm... well, your fish could have used more room, but with the room you provided, and with (what I assume to be) clean water, I see no reason why the fish would become stunted.

Some fish grow differently than others. If your pond info are only 7 inches, I would say they have some more to grow. 7 inches is pretty rare with pond fish, but it could take a few years to reach full length.

Koi seem to grow faster than Goldfish.

Koi do grow much faster than gold fish. The gold fish will average 1-3 inches a year.. while the koi can very easily double in size the first few years. Don't worry about it, just give them time.

Also, if these were originally 'feeder' grade goldfish don't expect them to reach the same size as a purebred.
