In looking at commercial canopy's for my soon to come 75 gallon tank and wooden base, I see that most have glass doors on the top. To get into the tank you have to do it through two sets of glass doors including the ones directly on the tank itself. This seems like it would be awkward to do. Also the lighting seems like it would be harder to install. I'm thinking of building it myself instead. I saw one top that someone built that the whole top flipped up on hinges and even the front panel of the canopy was connected to the top so you had great open access to the tank at the top of the tank level. Before I begin the design and building I'd love to hear if anyone had any other good ideas to incorporate. Also any comments on those using the ready made canopy's with the duel glass tops would be great too. Thanks.
