Carbon dust - black water

I will never admit to doing that horrible thing, but I can tell you it will clear up in an hour or two.

Next thing to watch out for is when you add driftwood... soak it first or it'll make your tank water look like pee.

I'm sure you meant to say it'll make the water look like T-E-A .. lol.. weakly brewed tea.

lol ... :headshake2:

i quit using carbon about 3 years ago. its a waste of money. i use filter floss and aquaclear filter have sponge and biorings. no need for carbon in planted tanks anyway.
got the 100% polyfill from walmart its 3-4.00 a pillow size bag full, will last alonggg time and save you alot of money if your buying the blue or white carbon filter inserts

and can be used in filter for accidents like the carbon dust!

I like using carbon but I don't run it all them time. But I was just saying to my husband that I was going to buy the quilting bating to put in our 125. It is already flat like a filter pad. I tell people all the time you don't have to buy all of your supplies at a pet store.
