Cardinal tetras not eating?

I noticed that my cardinals aren't really eating the flake food I give them; I thought it was just a temporary thing at first (stress from acclimation, etc.), but it's been about a week now and they're getting thin. I think they're willing to feed, but I often see them biting down on flakes, then spitting them out. Do I just have picky cardinals?

Do you have large flakes? My glowlights refuse to eat large flake food. I have to crush the flakes between my fingers into small fine flakes before my tetras will touch them.

Yeah, that's what I do, too. It looks like they're thumbing their noses at it, though. Should I try freeze-dried/frozen/live food or something?

Feed them live bbs- they will eat. After about a week you can begin to swith them over to flake
