When I had a reef I just made sure my calsium was correct. Coraline just needs good calsium and good water to grow.

And no, I have not used it.

I have not used it either.

Reading that it is very fine crushed aragonite sand, I wouldn't use it. I just spend many hours today rinsing 300 pounds of aragonite sand for my 180 gallon and refugium to avoid having that sandstorm for days and days. Dosing that back into my tank and paying money for it? No thank you.

I've used it. It's much cheaper to simply dose calcium and alkalinity (and on rare occasions magnesium) as needed. You have to be careful using any all-in-one product like Purple Up -- if the levels in your tank are not already balanced, you can make matters worse pretty easily and cause a large spike in one that can result in a large dip in another.

FWIW, I've not had a normal size dose cloud the tank.
