So several weeks back I pick up 6 beautifull Orange Caridina shrimp in auction.
They all seem nice and healthy... do an absolutely fantastic job on the algae... much better algae eaters than Cherries... but a couple days after getting them I notice that one has a brown spots on its body... think little of it... a few weeks later the brown spots were all over its body.
Now the shrimp is coloured almost entirely brown.
Is this normal? It's not cloudy like tiger shrimp or ghost shrimp get when sick- it's definately just the pigment on the carapace changing- I witnessed something similar with one of my cherries that turned a dark burgundy colour once... (although it either reverted back to red or died- because I only saw it a few times and then never again).
Do shrimp sometimes just change colour?
