what catfish would you recommend to go with oscars other than plecos cause in australia they are rediculously pricey

what all do you have available at a price you are willing to pay? because we could give a list of a lot of species, but if none are available at a price you are willing to pay it doesnt help you at all.

synodontis

I'm a fan of pictus cats personally, They get large enough, but you will want to find one big enough that your Oscar won't eat it before it grows up. Pictus usually top out around 6".

+1 on the synodontis. I was told that the Featherfin Synodontis grows to about 6" but may grow as big as 8" with a big enough aquarium...maybe. I'd like to put mines with my Oscar, but i don't have a big enough aquarium for just my Oscar alone( 55ga.).

Maybe you could get Clown Loaches. I've never owned one before so i don't know how long it takes to get 12" long, but thats big enough for a Oscar tank. I think you'll need to get more then one though so that could be an issue at that size...aquarium size that is.

most clown loaches dont get close to that big, that is max wild size. the biggest i have seen in an aquarium was probably about 6" tops, and they may not be used to dealing with more aggressive fish like oscars the way a synodontis can.

i just baught an oscar on friday and my catfish killed it while i went to the store poor little thing. Then again it was anly 4 inces long compared to my 9 inch channel cat which a friend gave me when it was in inch long. But
