Celebes Rainbow (Telmatherina ladigesi)

Salt as in aquarium salt, or salt as in marine salt?

Aquarium salt will not create a brackish environment, and marine salt would not be good for the fish you have (minus the rainbows). Also, corys do not tolerate any salt except in low concentrations for a short period of time.
:iagree:

1. API aquarium salt. (1 Tbsp per 5 gallons)
2. Thats funny cuz i have 2 peppered (corydoras paleatus) and 1 spotted cory that have been living in that kind of environment for sometime now and are growing and thriving... sooo anyway

the celeb tank is at the same salt content

fair enough... i guess its just something ive always done... but then again most everything else petco told me ten years ago was wrong... thanks for the info

The only time salt is not a waste of money is when ich crops up.

Well, yes. But I believe that regular table salt does the trick, at least from what I have heard. Aquarium salt, on the other hand is a marketing ploy.

haha even still the anti ich salt can have its repercussions...
I had my 3" Black snail crawl into my salt (i had a cup of it sitting in there) and shriveled up and died
