The last of my two gold Gourami died last week... :(

I'm looking for suggestions for a new fish about that size which would be good for a 36 gallon bowfront moderately planted aquarium.

Other stock:
Two cherry barbs
Six golden barbs
Six kuhli loaches
Three serpae tetra (hopefully going back to my son's teacher in January)
Common pleco (also hopefully going back to the teacher)
a few zebra nerite snails

Thanks in advance, and happy holidays!

One single angel of your choice would be nice...

I agree with Rbishop, I'm getting a single angelfish for my 36 gallon bowfront.

I hope the serpaes and the common pleco go back to school.

Personally, I'd stick with the SE Asian theme and get either a single male paradise fish or a pair of pearl gouramis.

I'm sure no one is still reading this...

But I saw a bunch of Opaline Gourami in my LFS today... I couldn't resist a pair. They are gorgeous.

Perhaps a school of ruby barbs or a male Siamese fighter?
