my tank is well cycled and i want to change the fish i have in my tank now. I have an odd mixture of tetras and i want them to be more similar so i was going to take a couple back and get 7 of one kind. Do i still need to make these changes slowly or can i take back 4 fish and get 7 new ones. Im not doing this right away as im still finishing up my ich treatment so i assume i cant make any changes untill that is done thoroughly?? any advice is appreciated. i have a 10g btw. THANKS GUYS!

Wait 2 weeks or so after the last sign of ick is seen on your fish. You don't want to get more fish only to infect those and your local fish store will appreciate it if you don't accidentally infect their tanks.

After those 2 weeks, I don't think you would have any trouble with your plan and I think you will have a more cohesive better looking setup!

Sounds good to me!

actually funny you should ask because everything has been looking perfect but i my ph looked a little high 7-7.2. Could the salt have anything to do with this. but otherwise all the levels are perfect!

What does perfect mean? What are your test results?

well after almost 4 weeks and 3 1/2 of those with at least 2 fish. there is no ammonia, and less than 5ppm of the good one nitrate or nitrite i cant remember right now its been a long day at work. and which ever one isnt the 5ppm or less has 0 ppm. My fish are all doing fine they eat well and dont look stressed. Why?? do you think i might not be fully cycled?? i appeciate the input

As long at it is nitrIte that is 0, and nitrAte that is 5 you should be good. Do you use a QT tank at all? Always helpful, but not always possible!! I think adding the fish would be fine, but I might even wait a bit longer than 2 weeks. I just like to be on the safe side, but that is obviously your call...good luck :thm:

Just remembering back to a previous thread you started in which you hadn't posted on how the testing went. If it's your NitrAtes that are 5 and your NitrItes that are 0, then you're cycled. :)
