Changing to sand bottom

I am wanting to redo my current tank with gravel to full sand. I am wanting a more natural look.. My question is what is the best way to rinse this stuff... I am probly going to be using the home depot play sand.. Also is this heavy enough to stay out of the filter???? Thanks

Play sand will work fine. I cleaned my sand by putting it in a large pot (5G) and running water over it until it ran clear. I know there is a post around here somewhere with awesome ideas on how to clean sand so just search it

I have play sand in my tank, I just hoover the syphon over the sand to suck up the "icky" stuff off the top and stir it around ever so often to release any "gas" bubbles that my form underneath. Also althought they reproduce like crazy getting MTS (maylasian trumpit snails) may be a good idea..they burrow under the sand and help with the areating(spelling?). Mine stay under the sand most of the time until evening and then they come out but mostly I don't see them during the day.
