Instead of dragging out that food saver gizmo thats buried under the cabinet, I use a toms aqua lifter pump get a box of zip lock freezer bags usually sandwich size but you can use larger if wanted. Put as much flake food as you want in the bag seal it all the way across but leave enough room for a piece of air line tubing to slide in the opening and turn the aqau lifter pump on it will draw out the air inside the bag and its pretty fast as soon as the bag is 'sucked' up quickly slide the air tube out and zip the bag closed.
you will end up with a shrunken up bag of bulk fish food that wont go stale as fast. this saves you money if you buy it in bulk and dont have a vacum food saver gizmo and works great.
toms aqua lifter pumps instead of blowing out air like a regular air pump instead sucks out air and is most often used in wet dry filter over flow boxes to keep air from building up in over flow tubes so you dont lose siphion.
