Will my new cherry red shrimps eat a moss ball (algea ball) as well as algea discs

Don't know the answer to your question, but really hate to see you bought some, I leave tomorrow, but just noticed, tank number two had a poulation explosion. there must be 50 shrimp in their 3/8" long. I only added two females and one males 3 weeks ago. If you want more let me know my previous offer still stands.

You're kinda near me Dave- have a boyfriend whos looking for some freshwater shrimp (other than ghost shrimp, which my puffers eat!) do you have any suggestions?

The puffers will also eat the cherry reds. No crustacean will be safe in with a puffer. Even the dwarves will go after shrimp.

Dave--if you're coming back this way, I'd love some. :) Of course, you're dorking around on a ship somewhere right now, but still!

That is only true if your puffers find out that they CAN eat the shrimp. If they already know they can eat them, they'll eat any and all kinds of them. If they don't know they can eat them, they may not, but might poke them around.

They know there foods as soon as they hatch. its instinct of how to survive by hunting and eating

There are quite a few of us with shrimp in our DP tanks. I have kept DPs with Amanos, Ghosts, and red-nosed red-tail shrimp without problems, but not all DPs will coexist with shrimp.

Particular foods are not hard-wired.

lol, i don't know, my cats have never seen a real mouse or even been let outside, but they go nuts over those fake mice with the real fur. . . they actually growl. . .

but even if your puffers don't eat the shrimp now, they always might decide to take a bite out of their little friends, just to see if they're yummy, or if they get startled. if they like it, your 'shrimp as buddies' days are over.
