I have no expierence with seachem nor do I know the website or what they make. I trust Tetra, because when they send me info, they send me the lab test reports on how they got that info.
It's easy to trust a company, or a person, when they are all the experience you have.

Here's some info:

Seachem makes a LOT of products that many of us use: Prime, Purigen, Flourite (for planted tanks), Flourish, Flourish Excel ... and so on.

Tetra is no longer Tetra, that is, if does not belong to the founding gamily anymore. They produce now a number of highly questionable products which I would not have in my house.

Seachem is currently the best line of materials for planted tanks available IMHO & IME. They are also honest amd responsive, which is all too rare in aquarium products.

Tetra also offers a beginner's email program, called Tetra Care, to help through the process of setting up and maintaining a new aquarium. Very misdirected and misleading information (with product endorsements of course!)...I was thoroughly disgusted with this program...doesn't give me a lot of confidence in the company. :p:

I get that, but I do alot more maintenace than what they say to do. They only send mine once a month. I will agree that it does have alot of advertisements, but I trust their aquarium equiptment. I have used their equiptment since I started and my grandma has used it since Willinger first came out with it!! We still use it today and it is 20+ years old!!

Are you sure you do that much tank maintenance?

And, please, FP321, stop sending the vulgar PMs'. Thanks.
