Last week one of my Choc. Chip starfish started to turn white and the next day it was died. I had it for 2 years so im thinking it may of died of natural causes (for lack of better words). But my concern is that I have another choc chip starfish in the tank and I was just curious if any one else has seen this before or should I be concerned about the other ones well being. All my fish are fine and the water tested good.

Thanks

Did you ever feed it directly? I have seen numerous CCS do what you've just described and they are never really fed anything, the owner just thinks they will survive off of scraps! These are a predatory starfish and should be fed like any othe predator IMO. I've known people to just a few times a week give them a chunk of krill. Have had them for many years. Of course I don't know their natural longevity...maybe it's just a short deal for them

Yep, I did feed it shrimp every week and it the other one in my tank is still doing fine. Im guessing it was at the end of its road!
