Hello,

I've started stocking my tank now. I first put in 4 chromis that seem to be doing great. They've been in my tank for about 2-3 weeks. After staying behind my rock for a while, they have really started to come out and really swim around the tank.

I added two of the Oscellaris clownfish over the weekend and they seem to be doing okay. They swim around the tank and don't seem to be fighting with the Chromis and everyone seems to be happy.

My problem is at feeding time. I alternate between frozen mysis shrimp and frozen brine fish (both prepackaged with Vitamins added). Regardless of what I add, the Chromis go crazy and devour the food. The clownfish aren't as aggressive towards the food and don't seem to be eating as much. Should I be concerned or just let things work out?

the clowns are jsut more skiddish, as they get older, they will become more and more and more agrressive. mine take over feedings and are right there to get it off my fingers before it even hits the water (literaly). i would trying targetting the food to your clowns if they come up with yoru finger, or trying to get it to them with something like a turkey baster. you can even try a smaller food that will also feed your corals (if you have them) such as cyclopse eeze. if you dose it in yoru entire tank, it shoudl get your clowns going and they will realize what is goign on and then probably come up more and be more food agressive.
also, i wouldnt feed the brine shrimp. even with vitamins added, it is still almost entirely water and has very little vitamins. the baby brine is better because most of the time, they still ahve osme of the yolk sacs still on them. however, in a lot of the plants, they feed the brine that they rear very little so all your clowns are basicly eating is a shell. trying a more mixed food like formula one. some formula two every once in a while is also good since your clowns are omnivorous. (nori sheets will also work, but none of my clowns eat them...)

Yeah i agree with Fishieness. All fish are going to be a little skiddish when first introduced to a tank. Imagine yourself being pulled out of your house and dropped in the middle of the Amazon jungle. You would be a little skiddish of everything yourself. The same thing is going on with your fish. Until they get used to your feeding times and motion outside the tank the fish will continue to be skiddish. After a while though (like my fish) once you walk by the tank all the little guys will be right there begging for food even picking at your fingers if you put them in the tank.

My clowns and chromis are probably equally aggressive. The clowns will eat out of my fingers. All of them go crazy and I'm sure your clowns will come around too.

Have you tried flake food at all?
