He just floats, not all the time, but sometimes, he'll just float. He's a Red and Black Lionhead, and is a dopey swimmer anyway. But sometimes he just floats facing down towards the tank. One of the fish guys at the store I go to, where I got chubs, says he may have air in his intestines, maybe a bladder infection, and that it's probobly treatable, or maybe untreatable. He seems really healthy most of the time, like right now, he's swimming around, and seems fat dumb and happy. Anyway, the fish guy at my store said not to feed him for about 3 days, and then feed him cooked peas, that would clear out the air in his intestine. And if that doesn't work, I will have to try antibiotics. And if that doesn't work, it's premanent. If it's permanent, will he die? Or can he live a normal, somewhat normal life? Thanks for the help.
PS. No other fish in my tank seems to have the same problem.

Aren't chubs a saltwater fish? but my guess is the problem might be a swim bladder problem
no, chubs is a black and red lionhead goldfish, and ya, I'm told he has a swim bladder problem, that seems to be getting better. But I think he may have permanent damage. However, he seems healthy otherwise, and I think it's something that he's just gonna have to live with.

chubs is his name! even i could figure that out...

if it's permanent and he doesn't rest on the bottom all the time, I'd say he'll be ok as long as you single out exactly what the problem is. Sounds like your LFS gave you good advice to follow. If he starts sitting on the tank bottom though, you should be aware of any sores that many develop because of the long rest periods. Is there any other fish in the tank? What size tank is it? What do you feed him, what type of food..... floating, sinking?

I feed them regular gold fish flakes, and he's very active, always swimming, always hunting for food, he never rests. I have two other goald fish, two orandas, and a pleco. All in a 30 gallon tank, and I intend to upgrade at some point. Probobly to a 55 gallon, or larger. Like I said, he seems healthy, so I'm not so worried anymore. But when he oes stop swimming, from time to time, he floats, face down, and just kinda pushes himelf along with his front fins, like he's watching the floor. It's kinda funny, but worries me sometimes.
