I want to breed some cichlids but I've seen the numbers of fry they have and I dont want all of the fry, so is there any type of fish thats fast enough to get past the parents and to the fry and eat majority of them without getting killed by the parents ?

Wow, are you going to get chewed out! A better plan is to raise them and sell them to your LFS...
The parents may themselves do what you want, depending on the type of cichlid you have, or any type armored catfish, like the corydoras.
Do keep in mind that your LFS will buy the fish back, or, at least, take them off your hands for free...

For African tanks, Synodontis species will eat fry and you could also purposely keep one fry eating cichlid species like a giraffe cichlid or electric blue hap. In New World tanks, any large catfish will gobble up fry.
Why would she get chewed out? I just started rasing convicts so I can feed the fry to my 2 senegals and 2 African Leaf Fish. If you're going to feed live fish you should raise them yourself so you know they are disease free.

The best course of action is to have the breeding pair in a seperate tank and remove the fry to the main tank where dinner will be served to its inhabitants.
Or do you only have the 1 tank? If thats the case good luck. A pair of cichlids could take out an Oscar while protecting their young.

You make a good point, Ice. I guess I still react to my fish as pets, not as wild creatures in a natural habitat. My bad.
