cichlids for 30g tank

new world or old world, although old world's aggression in my opinion is mild in most species. Not saying oscar mild but not exactly jag mean either. I don't think you have the room in a 30 to house any new world aggressive guys besides con's but you've stated them to be off the list so I don't see new world bad asses finding their way into your tank. Maybe some old world guys can be more help.

Some possibilities:

American cichlids:
Convict
Firemouth
Neet
Apistogramma
Ram
Angelfish
Curviceps/ other keyhole dwarves
MAYBE Salvini, but I'm skeptical about that.

Anything 6" or under, really....

Africans:
Hemichromis Jewels ( Lilifali, bimaculatus )
Kribensis
Buffalo Head
Teleogramma
Most small mbuna, 4-6" variety ( Many species there. )
Shellies ( Neolamprologus Meleagris, Brevis, etc. )
Lelupi, brichardi, most any julidochromis

.....there are actually quite a few options. You may not be able to keep alot of fish, but you do have options.

Like I said, anything 6" or under is perfectly fine, assuming you set up the tank right and mix species correctly if at all.

edit: Oh, I'm sorry. I overlooked the fact that you wanted "aggressive". Of course, that can depend on what you think is aggressive. They all CAN be, with the exclusion of rams.

i just want one that goes after goldfish right after i throw em in and actually catches it. in my 55g tank with an oscar and a gt they just chase it around a couple of minutes and ignore it.
