Hi
Just wondering what other foods you can feed a cleaner wrasse. At the moment he's eating well on brine shrimp, but will he be able to eat flakes or other foods. he doesnt seem to like mysis shrimp.
Thanks

BL: I will watch this thread because I thought that the reason that the cleaner wrasse did not do well in captive reef systems is that it's food source was the parasites on the fish it had access to. That being said, it was also the cause of their demise in that once they did their job, the food source was then gone. Great that you got it to at least it brine - are you enriching the brine before feeding? Hope you have great success with your cleaner wrasse, they are fascinating.

My cleaner wrasse died from malnutrition, even though it was eating flakes and brine shrimp. Good luck.

Never had a problem with mine and it is one of the most aggressive towards food during feedings. Still, he is a little bugger and even if there are no parasites on the fish it will still try and aggressively clean them, sometimes ripping scales off other fish. Had mine 2+ years now and it is fatter and has more color than when I bought it. Still, I probably wouldn't recommend one after watching mine. I can understand why they need to be in the ocean... or at least need 20+ fish to constantly graze off of, maybe 20 Hippo Tangs would be enough parasites. ;)

Ace: glad yours is doing so well. I had one of the blue line cleaners and it lasted about a month then perished. Most of the sites had people saying I never should have bought it and it should stay in the ocean because they are hard to keep alive and feed. Great to hear you have one doing so well.

Yeah well he still eats brine shrimp and now mysis which both have be vitamin enriched. he seems to be a very agressive eater and when i pour in flakes for my other fish he eats then spits out the flakes. but otherwise he eats brine and mysis aggressively and eats alot and his stomach looks fat. its been about 2 weeks now so we will see what happens. hopefully he lives.

Another question is that i have a majestic angel and was wondering if there is a special formulated food for them. he eats flakes, sushi, brine, mysis and pieces of prawn but i still wonder if he missing something. since they tend to eat corals i was wondering if there was a food for them.
