Hello! My brother gave me his 80 gallon fish tank and I was just wondering how should I go about cleaning it before I put fish in. Its pretty gross right now and im not sure if I should use bleech or what.
Also I am looking for some good stocking ideas.
I think I am going to have A tank with live rock and corals.
Any advice would be great
Thanks again!

What was in it before? Or you going to try salvaging anything out of it?

Oxyclean and hotwater are the best cleaners, especially for non porous things. I'd empty the tank, fill it with hotwater and a few scoops of oxyclean, let it sit until the water cools enough to work in, scrub everything down with a tank safe scrubby, rinse. For any items you wish to reuse--soaking in this mix is great for things like tubing, filters, powerheads, etc.

Oxiclean? on a fish tank?

Wow, I did'nt know you could use such strong chemicals on a fish tank... wont that leak into the water when you get ready to set it up... and how do you make sure you get rid of it all so it doesn't kill everything?

This is mindblowing to me,
But then again I'm a newb, so just about everything is mindblowing...
