Cloudy Eye on Jacobfrabergei

So, my male Jake has cloudy eye. I don't know much about this, but was dosing the tank with Melafix (I have found this promotes algae growth...) anyways, what is the cause, what should I do, what can I expect.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

difficult to determine the cause.. it can range form injury to infection.

clean water helps.

Clean water and melafix should clear it up in a few days.

Usually associated with either bacterial infection secondary to poor water conditions, or to an injury to the eye (not uncommon in aggressive tanks).

Keep water pristine; daily large water change for a few days should see it clear right up.
