what causes fish to get cloudy eyes and then have the cloudiness to go away:read:  :joe:

basically, water quality is the issue of cloudy eye which in itself isn't the root of the disease. It's usually stirred on by something else. It could be from taking a fish from low water quality and putting him into a well cycled and clean environment. It could start from a tank that has no water changes and had a big water change. Basically it's all about the water.

my female peacock did a week ago and then it went away and now my female electric yellow and the small cherry red have it

MY piranhas had cloudy eyes once after i haden't done a water change in a couple weeks (i was very busy and unfortuantly couldn't make time) but as soon as i did a good water change it cleared right up and everything was back to normal.

Water quality is important. My second angel had cloudy eye when I introduced it (didn't notice at the lfs) but it cleared up in a couple days. It can also be caused by flukes or external damage (this will look slightly different - if you look at the eye side on it will look like there's something inside it.

we have had the tank for almost 2 months now and our ammonia is 0 nitrite 1.0 and nitrates 0 and the fish have been in the tank for almost a month and a half. water maintenance is 10% wc and then we add 5ml of stress coat and 5ml of stress zyme. we have been checking on the parameters religiously to try and bring down the rites. but my husband said that the cloudiness went away while i was at work and our water is very clear. so we must have done something right

you need to do 30-50% WCs at least once a week. stress zyme is pretty useless and I don't reccomend using it.

also, what fish are in the tank?
