Cloudy tank? How to resolve?

New to the board but been reading a while. Recently bought a 55 gallon tank and went through a 4 week fishless cycle.

Two weeks ago I added 2 cory cats and 3 giant danio. There is a slight cloundniess to the water but all levels (nitrate, nitrite and ammonia) are fine. I have been feeding the fish twice a day with both flake and sinking pellets.

Yesterday I added 2 more cory cats, 1 pleco and 2 bala sharks (I will have issues with these later from what I have read). The levels in the tank are still fine but the cloudniess is still there. Was thinking of vacuuming the gravel and doing a 25% water change tomorrow. Just wanted any other opinions on what may be causing this. Thanks.

My first thoughts on this matter is if you are not getting some residue from the gravel. I am assuming that you rinsed the gravel very well prior to putting it into the tank. I had an issue similar to yours about 3 years ago when I set up a 15 gal tall plant tank. My wife went to the local pet store and found a set of rocks that she liked and brought them home and put them into the tank. It turned out that these three or four rocks were for marine aquariums and started breaking down in the tank. Removed the rocks and did a major cleaning of the gravel and changed the water until the tank finally cleared up in about a week. Hopefully this may get you started in troubleshooting your problem. Good luck.

This happened to a couple of our tanks when we first started them up.
We basically just did water changes and made sure there were no problems with the water quality and it seemed to clear up within 2-4 days.
