Cloudy Water and Gnats?

That sounds like great info too. I will definitely look into the surrounding areas, being sure not to contaminate my tank and water.

Like I mentioned above, I plan to pull the mech filter from the Ehaim today. I expect some surprises since my wife likes to overfeed (usually until the Oscars start shooting the food out of their gills 'cause tummy is full).

Oh, before I forget, the gnats also seem to fly out of my HOB filters when I pull the covers off. I probably need to change/clean my mech parts more ofter (every 2-3 days).

I will post tonight or tomorrow with the results.

A-HAH! I bet you a dozen donuts that they are in your filter like I thought. Thing is, if they are in your bio media, which is where I bet they are, because that's not something you would clean so they would be undisturbed -- how the heck do you get rid of them without destroying the good bacteria?
