I just got a new tank and it is cycling right now. I have a few zebra dano's in there and they are swimming around just fine. I noticed this morning that the water looks cloudy and that one of the zebras had what looked like red soars down his sides. I am changing the water out tonight. But I was wondering what this could be. The water is cloudy and the fish is just starting to look like soars on them. I have had the fish in there for 3 days now
Any help is appreciated

Do you have test kits? I would do a water change asap. The red sores might be ammonia burn, or septicemia. gooogle those and see if you can match up some pics. I would be less concerned about the cloudy water than the water parameters. If you are trying to do a fishy cycle, you still have to keep the fish alive long enough (by doing water changes, keeping the ammonia and nitrite from getting too high, etc.) to achieve that!!

cloudy water is not uncommon while a tank is cycling. it's a bacterial bloom. the bacteria which are busy colonizing your filter have not completely done so and those that are still free floating in the water column make the water look cloudy. not to worry.

I AGREE WITH BOTH OF THEM. ALSO IF YOUR NOT ALREADY, YOU MAY WANNA DO LIKE 40-50% WATER CHANGES EVERY OTHER DAY WHEN DOING A FISHY CYCLE. IT WOULD PREVENT ANY HARM AMMONIA WOULD DO TO YOUR FISH.

here are my numbers
Ammonia = 0-.25 ppm
nitrite = .25 ppm
The fish where ok. They look healthy and have no visable spots. I might have just been seeing things. I am going to do a water change tomorrow as long as the ammonia stays where it is. Thanks for your help
