Cloudy Water

I have a 135G running for about 2 months now. Everything is going great except I recently got cloudy water when I put a Bubbletip anemone in. I had a breeding pair of Tomatos and the anemone housed in my buddies tank for a couple of months until I was ready for them. In my buddies tank the anemone split in two abou 3 weeks ago and I moved them last week. Everything was going good until the smaller of the 2 anemones got caught in the filter intake. It was removed, it clouded up the water but seemed to clear again. The water is getting cloudy again. All my parameters have been good but my PH seems to dropped in the last couple of days to 7.9. Help!

Did you do a water change after you got it out cos it could have poluted the water? Put some spunges in the intakes to stop this happening in the future. If you do a 30 % water change that should help bring the PH back up, and sort out the clouding. If the PH is not right after the water change, get yourself some Marine PH buffer, I think Kent do a good one. What time did you take the PH reading, Morning or night?

I did the water change. Tank is slowly clearing out. nitrites went up and back down again, now nitrates are up and slowly coming down. looks like everything is sorting itself out. Hopefully I don't loose any fish in the process.

I also added the buffer and everything is good there now too. I initially took the reading in the evening after the lights had been on for about 6 hours.

Sounds like your over the worst. What are your readings on the water now? Is the PH still correct this morning? Have you sorted out sponges for the intakes?

Hope it all works out.
