i have a common clown in my tank now for about 2 weeks. just a couple of days ago i put in a hairy mushroom rock. the nxt day my clown had this small dark bump under his mouth looks like a gotee really. can anyone think what it might be. ive been trying for an hour to get a picture but my photography skills suck and i cant get a good picture. also he is very active he is still eating and is swimming around very spunky

i wouldnt worry about it.. if its your first clown thats not the first mysterious bump youll see.. its probably just a clown pimple.

my picassos get white bumps on random places every week ad they go away over night. i doubt the mushroom had anything to do with it.

More than likely nothing to worry about, but it would be a big help if you could get a pic. I just want to cross off some possibilities.

i tried to take a pic of it see if anyone can make it out

Clowns usually develop black spots when they have been hosting in a coral such as xenia, GSP, zoos, etc. Had it been hosting in anything at all? This is usually harmless and will actually go away if they stop hosting in the suspect coral.

Black spots aren't the issue here.

It looks like possibly several things, like a bacterial or even fungal infection from getting a scrape. The pictures aren't very clear, so at best, I'm taking a stab in the dark. Is the fish still eating?

Fish is not eating and it's growing bigger I do have hairy mushrooms in the tank I saw it nipping at it once. It started as a small dot now it's bigger then the picture shows

That sounds like an infection. I'd look into obtaining a quarantine tank and treating immediately with a broad spectrum antibiotic and antifungal. I've used Furanase and neomycin together without issue.
