Hi everyone,

I want to move my eight panda cories in a 54 gallon bow front tank. It currently houses four fairly large clown loaches and two adult angel fish. Anyone see any problems with this combination?

Thanks.

I have had clown loaches and angel's and cories together. Right now I have pygmy cories, a green cory and 6 clown loaches along with numerous other fish and have no problem's. Just make sure that there is enough food for everyone. My tend to fight over who gets to eat first.

Are you worried that the angels will eat the dwarf cories eventually? Or do the dwarves get much bigger than the 1 inch size I see locally? I really like the little guys, and would like to add some to a tank, but worry that their small size will make them targets for a hungry fish. (sorry to hijack!)

I wouldn't worry about the cories with the clowns, as long as you provide enough food for them, and spread it out around the tank, instead of piling it all in one place.

Orion-I don't have my angels any more, but I do have Kribs in with the pygmy cories...They don't seem to bother them. I would love to have more as I only have 4 right now. When I first put them in the tank the largest Angel ate the smallest cory and died. The cory was way to large for it to eat. But, the cory WAS very tiny. My LFS has +/- 40 in with there Discus without having any problems though.

I was more concerned of the clown loaches harrassing the cories. I never considered the angels may be a problem. The cories are about an inch and a half in length, I think they would be too large for the angels to eat. Thanks for your feedback.

I have 3 large clowns and 8 pygmie corries. There only about 1/2"
right now. The clowns do not bother the corries at all.

I have numerous cories kept in a tank with two 4ins clown loaches and two breeding pairs of angelfish with no problems. However, I have heard stories of squabbles between clown loaches and cories - but I have never found this to be a problem. In fact, quite the contary mine live very happily together. So in all I do not see a problem with the proposed combination - but there will always be the rogue exceptions. Just cross your fingers that you dont have any rogues...

Thom.
