WE added a long tentacle anenome about a month after adding 2 perc clowns ( Tank Raised) They will not go near the anenome!!

When we bought the anenome it had 2 perc clowns hosting in it.

Is there a way to introduce them to it? or do we just wait?
:sad

Wait and see. CB clowns, especially ocellaris and percs often ignore anemones. They also happen to be some of the pickiest about host species in the wild.

Some say pasting a picture of a clown near the anemone helps.

Clowns can be VERY picky. I tried a couple of different anenomes and my clown would not host. Then, on the thought that they looked cool, I picked up a Feather Duster. Went home, had it in the tank not even over night, and the **** clown was already hosting in it. I had never heard of such a thing, but the Feather Duster didnt seem to mind...they got along just fine. It really fascinates me when I watch how each of my fish have such different personalities. Poor Feather Duster (R.I.P May 04 for unknown reasons...maybe, the clown).

In My experience, having only a tomato and perc, percs tend to stay away from anemones with long tentacles(bubble tips, rose) and usually mine head right for the carpet anemone. But It sometimes does take time. My tomato clowns never went near the carpet anemone, but always prefer either a bubble tip, a conylactus, or any other with long tentacles. Oh ya, I even had a maroon clown that only preferred my long tentacled anemones. Try putting some other fish in there and this may help the clown seek shelter and take on its territorial behavior. Just dont add any other clowns once yours have been in the anemone, the anemone seems to make them become territorial and aggressive towards other clowns. in fact, stay away from all aggressive fish, they will give you a headache.
