I have seen the math and I think it was like 6% per foot of tubing. I can't find it now but maybe someone else knows where to find it.

Skeptical would be a better word. Vinyl is fairly low as is Tygon which is the small engine fuel line in that table. How much difference is that going to make to a bottle of sugar, yeast and water? Very little I think. If I construct a little DIY system with a bubble counter I can see that it moves bubble for bubble through the system. Actually if you go to a good hobby shop you can find brass fittings that connect the bottle top to the hose very well.
I have nothing against the high cost high tech world of the aquarium. Rex is generous and kind to provide all the background information on his site. Amano has given the hobby beauty and grace that it may never have achieved without his input. I applaud the efforts of people like these.
I just don’t happen to think any of this stuff is critical that’s all.
