I want to add a DIY c02 system to my tank. I was just going to make a 3 liter coke bottle into a diy co2, but i have a few questions.

I would like to have the 3 liter for the co2 reaction and then going into a 2 liter in case of an overflow and then into the tank. Possibly doubling that up with 2 of the 3 liter reactors going to 1 (2) liter then into the tank. Most likely will make some sort of dome so it will dissolve.

Any mixtures i can use as a guide line?
Do you think this will be enough co2 for a 75 gallon, well planted tank, community?
Any suggestions on the dissolving in the water issue?

its true, and it cost about 3 bucks to fill a 9once Co2 tank so expect around 15-20 bucks for a 5pound Co2 tank, but make sure that its for Co2 and not Air

Okay...thank you, how long would a 5lb tank last me?

Hard to say. I have a 100gal, and I use to have a 10lb CO2 cylinder (I now have a 20lb) and it would last me about 5 months. I do have a jungle in my tank though. Depending on your amount of plants and how much light you have --My quess is about 3-5 months with a 5lb.

for the most part its even cheaper then that to refill.

i would say for the most part 6 months is a average but not always a given.
