What color enhancer foods do you use and in which amount?
I have blue discus, lot of oscars, and orange carps.
I've heard there's a food called cr6 to enhance red color.
Is it really good? What are the other color enhancer foods do you use? Are they so expensive? Please help me.
What food(not live food) do you give oscars to make them grow quickly?

Good color comes from very nutritious food IMO. I feed my smaller fish shrimp pellets, algae wafers, Betta pellets, flakes, and freeze dried bloodworms crushed up finely and my fish love it! And their colors really pop out.

Am I evil for feeding shrimp shrimp pellets? LOL

I've heard color enhancers are more efficient than natural food. When I bought discus, seller said to use cr6 if to enhance color of them but I had no idea of what it is until i looked for it in internet. now there are lot of color enhancers so I want to know more about them from user. thats why Im here :troll:

by "live food" I only meant "live fish and live worms". I also give dead fish as food for oscars.

Try giving your discus/carp blanched/boiled carrot! Pretty cheap, and all natural. My goldfish get carrots in their gel food, and sometimes processed foods will include them and marigold petals for color enhancing.

I didn't know fish eat carrots. I will try, yea sounds pretty cheap but still hesitate of they eating carrots :)

My goldies eat people veggies all the time. In fact, a lot of people feed their fish fruits/veggies as treats...cucumber, zucchini, lettuce, spinach, peas, carrots. I would boil/blanch the carrot (so it's soft) and then cut it up into tiny bite size pieces...you don't want them to choke. It's really good for them and has natural color enhancers.

Paprica= $4 per pound

Astaxanthin= $4 per ounce

Krill= $12 per pound

They are worth it.

Carrots and sweet potato are high in beta carotene. Sweet potato is also has huge amounts of potassium and vitamin A.

These will all work to make your fish healthy and colorful.
