I have a male betta that I have had for 3 months now. His body is a light lilac color, and the rest of his body is a dark plum purple and a skarlet crimson type reddish color. I have noticed under his mouth it looks white. It is almost solid as if he rubbed his face on something and the color rubbed off. He is swimming fine, eating fine. He is in a 1 gallon aquarium with an undergravel airation, and 1 small plastic plant. Just thought I might ask because he acts fine, just curious what the coloring might be. Is it bad? Is it just his special coloring? Too bad I don't have a digital camera or I would put a picture of him on here. He's beautiful! I named him Purple People Eater as in the movie that came out in the late 80's/early 90's called, "One Eyed, One Horned, Flying Purple People Eater". It was this purple thing that came from outer space, these kids took it in (kinda like they did in bigfoot and E.T.) and he could play music out of his one horn. =D
Ok enough out of me. Thanks guys.
