I would like anyone out there who has successfully kept Columbian Sharks to tell me how big their sharks really got. Everyone on the web has a thought on the subject, but I want to hear from people who actually have them or have had them. Thanks for sharing your personal accounts of an awesome fish IMO.

ive had them up to 12"

Thanks. It helps to talk to people who have actually raised the fish you are talking about instead of people who are just offering an opinion.
Thanks, Bridget

Been a few years, but the last trio I had (in heavy brackish) were pushing 14" each....hefty buggers they were, too.

Thanks. Strange thing, but I'm pretty excited about them getting so big. I love big fish! My Oscars are going on 10" and 12". They are awesome fish, I'm just crazy about them. I just keep getting new tanks everytime I think their housing is getting to small. The O's Christmas present is a new 125 gallon and I've already started saving up to eventually get the Columbian's a 180 gallon. I figure I've got a year or so, which should be plenty of time. Thanks for the info., sounds like you've been in the hobby a long time and still love it. That is awesome.

Ours have gotten up to 6 inches in just 6 months, and we're desperately trying to find them new homes! Right now they're in a 75g, and I don't think the tank should be any smaller.

Yeah, mine are 3 inches right now. I'll be bringing them back to the LSF soon. I didn't know anything about them before I bought them. Big Mistake.

From now on, before I buy fish I'm going to read up on them.

I think a school of them at their adult size would be extremely impressive!
