We have a 120 gallon that is for our african cichlid (Lake Malawi)... I was wondering about how long they live in great conditions... I know there are times when something happens and one here or there might need to take an early swirly, but any ideas on how long they survive on average??

Yeah, that's about right.

Just be sure to distinguish 'life span' from 'time in your tank'. For example if one were to purchase a full grown mbuna or hap (say, an already solid 5" or 6" zebra or 11" d. compressiceps), they've already lived a number of years.

most africans live to be 10 to 15 years my frontosa are projected to live for 25 years but there is alot of diverse on what lives what well like people take care..
